GB8EDD Special Event Station

The Lough Erne Amateur Radio Club (LEARC) will be operating a special event station with the callsign GB8EDD (Enniskillen D Day) on the HF bands from  11:00 to 17:00 UTC on Saturday 8th June at the D-Day commemorative event held at Enniskillen St Angelo Airport (formerly RAF St Angelo).

The event marks 80 years since D-day, where the club are hoping to mark the occasion by making contacts with other Special Event Stations across UK and beyond! We would love to see members of the public come and visit us, learn about our great hobby of Amateur Radio and get involved! 

The airfield which the club will be operating from also qualifies for the Bunkers on the Air scheme, so if you are an amateur radio operator who chases bunkers, be sure to listen out for us and give us a shout!

The event promises to be one of the largest free community commemorations in Northern Ireland to mark D-Day 80 with something for all the family including WW2 vehicles, Regimental Bands, Military Village & Emergency Services Display.
