Rally 2022
The members of Lough Erne ARC would like to thank all traders and amateurs who helped make our day a success by showing their support by attending our annual rally, which was held on Sunday 8th May 2022 at the Share Center, Lisnaskea.
Our first rally was held 40 years ago, back in 1982, as we have held a rally every year since, this would’ve been our 40th anniversary rally, unfortunately however Covid-19 had forced us to put our 2020 and 2021 rallies on hold. We were delighted to finally reopen our doors in 2022 and welcome back everybody to the Share Center for our 38th rally.
With an attendance of over 200 radio amateurs, it was great to see the trade stands bustling, and a busy bring & buy table. It was a great day for catching up with those that we hadn’t seen in so long since before the pandemic, exchanging stories, band conditions, radio setups, and of course grabbing a few bargains at the various trade stands!
Amongst the visitors, we were very glad to welcome back Phil Cantwell, EI9P and Mike Kane, EI4FD. Two radio amateurs from Co. Meath. Phil was the founder of the Royal Meath Radio Club, and had previously given an interview 32 years previous to RTE in 1990 during our annual club rally, which was then held in the Killyhevlin Hotel. The interview can be found by visiting the RTE archives here.
Gaby Leonard, MI0WGL and David Eames, MI0DWE of LEARC are pictured below having a catch up with both Phil and Mike, while the rare Co. Fermanagh sunshine lasted!
Herbie Graham, GI6JPO very kindly compiled a video showcasing the traders and amateurs that were in attendance at the rally. This video can be viewed below, or by visiting this link.
Special thanks to Raymond Long, of Long Communications, for a donation towards club activities
LEARC would also like to thank the staff of SHARE, for their hard work and effort that went into catering for the rally, and for their ongoing support of club activities.
Last but certainly not least, thanks to those that could make it, we hope to see you all next year!
